Work With Tables and QR Codes
Each table in your restaurant gets a unique QR code. Guests scan the code to open the digital menu on their phone, place orders, and pay.
Create a Table
From the Tables page in your workspace:
- Select Add table.
- Enter a name (such as "4A" or "Patio 02").
- Set the seating capacity.
- Toggle Active to control whether the table accepts orders.
You can create multiple tables at once when setting up a new restaurant. Use clear, short names that match your physical table numbering.
Table Status
Each table shows one of these states:
- Active: accepts orders and shows on the live order board.
- Inactive: hidden from guest ordering. Use this for a broken table or during deep cleaning.
Toggle the status from the table's row menu. Inactive tables do not appear in the QR menu.
Generate QR Codes
From the Tables page, select Print QR codes to open the print view.
The print view lays out table codes that are ready to cut and place on each table. Each code encodes the restaurant slug and table slug, so guests open the correct menu automatically.
Scan a printed code with a phone to verify it opens the right table before distributing it during service.
Rename or Remove a Table
From the table's row menu:
- Edit: change the name, capacity, or status.
- Delete: remove the table. A table with active orders cannot be deleted. Resolve or cancel all open orders first.
Check Table Sessions
Open Live Sessions to see every table session currently in progress. Each session tracks the guest, the table, and the orders placed during that visit. Use this view to follow up on a table that might need attention.
