Follow Live Sessions

A table session tracks one continuous period of guest seating at a table. It starts when a guest opens the menu and ends when the restaurant closes it or a set time passes after the last order.

Open the Live Sessions Page

From your workspace, select Live Sessions. The page shows every table with an active session, the guest at the table, and the orders placed during the current session.

Read the Session Board

Each row on the board shows:

  • Table: the table name.
  • Guest: the name and contact details the guest entered at checkout.
  • Started: when the session began.
  • Orders: the count of orders in the session and a quick status summary.

Follow an Active Session

Select a session row to open its detail view. From there you can:

  • Review every order placed during the session.
  • See item-level detail for each order.
  • Update order statuses as the kitchen progresses through them.
  • Record a tip or note if needed.

Close a Session

From the session detail view, select Close session. A closed session stops the live timer and moves the orders to the completed history. You cannot place new orders against a closed session.

Sessions close automatically a set time after the last order, so tables turn over even when a guest forgets to signal they are done.
