What Guests See

This page describes the menu your guests open when they scan a table's QR code. Knowing the guest flow helps your team answer questions at the table.

Open the Menu

A guest scans the QR code on their table with their phone camera and opens the link. The menu opens in the browser. There is no app to install and no account to create.

The menu shows your restaurant name, logo, and the table name at the top. If the table is inactive or the code is out of date, the page shows a not-found message. See Tables and QR Codes.

Browse

  • Categories appear as tabs across the top. Guests tap a tab to see its items.
  • Search item finds dishes by name or description.
  • The Veg only toggle hides everything that is not vegetarian or vegan.
  • Filters lets guests pick dietary types: Vegetarian, Vegan, Egg, or Non-vegetarian.
  • Each item shows its photo, name, description, price, and a colored dietary marker.
  • Items you marked Featured show a Popular badge.
  • Items that are active but not Available show Sold out and cannot be added.

Only items with the status Active appear. See Menu Items.

Order

If Online Ordering is on for your restaurant, guests can add items to a cart:

  1. Tap Add on an item, or the plus and minus buttons to change the quantity. A guest can add up to 99 of one item and up to 20 different items.
  2. Items with add-ons open a window where the guest picks options, such as a size or toppings, before adding. Required groups must have a choice. See Add-ons and Options.
  3. Tap Cart to review the order, change quantities, or remove items. Below the items, the cart shows the subtotal, each charge your restaurant adds to guest orders, tax, and the total the order will be placed at.
  4. Tap Checkout and fill in:
    • Name and Phone Number: required, so your staff know who ordered.
    • Email: optional.
    • Special Notes: optional, up to 500 characters, for example No onions.
  5. Tap Confirm Order. The button shows the order total.

If your restaurant adds charges to guest orders, such as a service charge, the cart and the checkout both name them before the guest orders, for example Every order includes Service charge (10% plus tax). Guests cannot remove a charge themselves. See Service Charges.

The guest sees Order Placed! with an order reference number. The order appears on your Live Orders board at the same moment. See Orders.

If Online Ordering is off, guests can still browse the menu but see no cart or checkout. Turn it on in Settings.

Track Orders

Tap Orders at the bottom of the menu to see every order placed from that phone at this table, with its live status: Pending, Preparing, Ready, Completed, or Cancelled. The status updates as your team moves the order along.

Guests can place more orders during the same visit. All of them belong to the same table session, so your staff can bill them together. See Live Sessions.

Rate the Meal

When an order is marked Completed, the menu asks the guest to rate it from 1 to 5 stars with an optional comment. Guests can also tap Rate your order on the Orders tab later, and edit their rating. Ratings appear on your Reviews page. See Reviews and Feedback.

Test It Yourself

Scan one of your own QR codes and place a small order before your first service. Check that it shows up on Live Orders, move it to Completed, and confirm the rating prompt appears on your phone.
